Our History *

Early in 1916, a group of Tyrone businessmen met and discussed the need for an organization devoted to community service, economic progress and cultural growth. This led to the establishment of the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc. on July 16, 1916.

Membership currently stands around 207 and growing. New members always welcome. The chamber provides many networking opportunities such as monthly breakfast meetings, business after hours and lunch- n -learn.

Listings of our members are on the website, business referral list, chamber newsletter inserted in The Daily Herald and in the 20,000 copies of the Tyrone Area Visitor, Tourism and Reference Guide printed annually and distributed for great exposure to those potential customers or visitors.

The Chamber offers Tyrone memorabilia apparel (t-shirts, hats, and sweatshirts), collectible buildings, maps, postcards, mugs, books and gift certificates good at any area business. They all make good gifts.

Your Chamber works diligently with the borough, school district, all clubs and organizations, businesses, individuals, etc. for the quality of life and in the best interest of our community!

We are always looking for volunteers to promote activities or those who have specific interests they want to pursue. Simply stop in or give us a call and will be happy to work with you!
